Newsletter criteria

Hi. I’m currently sending out my newsletter for my site https://igroups.io and was wondering if you have any criteria’s when selecting your recipients?

If a user hasn’t logged in for a given period, will you send anyway? And at what time is a user “qualified” as a lost user and it makes no sense sending to that user anymore?

Of cause if the email bounces, I won’t send either (Sendgrid takes care of that for me)

Any other?

Hi Kent, I think there's no 1 answer fits all for this. But you are for sure need a lead scoring scheme (in fact all businesses need one at least). It's a way to qualify or rank your users or prospects. In your case, you need a lead scoring scheme for your email marketing so you can decide "what" to send to "who" based on their performance. ex: if a user opens this email, add score +10 and follow with this email. If they perform a click, add+50. If email is closed, -5, follow with this email and so on. then you may want limit creating emails to people who scored less than 5 etc. or sending an only special email like a touch base email. hope it helps or google for more ;)
