Newsletter tool, but you write emails in markdown.

Hello indiehackers,

I was thinking about an email newsletter tool, where you write your email body in markdown. You have a live preview where you can see how your email would look. Have the option to add subscribe/unsubscribe widgets. The email would be responsive, and you can choose different style templates. Also, it would include analytics.

I haven't build any startup yet, and I would like to get started.

    Good idea!
Gmail editor sucks and its not keyboard friendly like markdown or notion.so, but like @JonathanOron mentioned a browser extension can get the job done, for MVP.
Coming to analytics, email view status, etc. many alternatives are already there. So, its better to focus on productive writer which has snippets, personal templates, custom shortcuts, simpler markdown.
Hoping to use it one day.

Thanks, do you mind if I will send you a survey on twitter? Probably tomorrow.

Sounds fun. Would love to see and try a prototype!

I would love this tool. Especially if you integrate with Github and let me send emails from git commit. That's an idea I have for development, but haven't had the time, nor see a path for monetization. Right now I need to make money and this looks more like a side project / open source software...

Still interested in working on this? :D I came to the same realization early on and treating emails/newsletters as code would be so much easier for developers demographic

Hey, sure this idea still sounds enticing to me. Sending you a DM on Twitter now.

    Sounds interesting!
Who would be your user demographic?
Also, maybe an extension that you write in markdown and it translates it to formatted text in Gmail, etc...?
    Cheers
    Jonathan

I think that user demographics would be programmers that run a newsletter, because for me, as a developer is much easier to write in markdown, than it is writing in a text editor

Cool, can you reach out to 10-100 of them and find out if they feel the same?
