NFTs are still worth something—just not what you think
Virtual ownership of a virtual good is a way to support artists, score bonus content, and buy into a cultural community. Maybe it’s just not a good shortcut to get rich.

Who's into NFTs here? What has your experience been so far?
I like the idea conceptually. Someone on Twitter once explained: cryptocurrencies are money in the metaverse, and NFTs are property in the metaverse.
I think they're a bit before their time, though. We don't really have a metaverse yet, so neither these cryptocurrencies nor NFTs are really that useful.
But if the metaverse catches on as a concept, I think they will be useful. And it's hard to say if that'll happen, but I wouldn't necessarily bet against it just because traction has been slow, because exponential curves always look flat near the beginning.
NFTs are a waste of time IMO.
I have a few friends that are in the coaching/self-help world who are suddenly really into NFTs. It's like all of their social media content went from posts about meditation and reiki to content about NFTs. Almost a bit culty! I'd love to hear about indie hackers experience with NFTs - specifically the benefits.
