Hey Indie Hackers — I’m Dave, founder of StrideFuel.
StrideFuel is an iOS nutrition and wellness app built for people who want results without spending their life logging. Most apps either feel like a spreadsheet or empty motivation. I wanted something that makes tracking painless and then tells you what to do next.
What StrideFuel does:
Fast food logging: photo, voice, barcode/label/menu scanning, USDA + natural language search
AI coaching: a personal trainer that adapts to your goals and what you actually log
Planning + execution: meal planning, recipes, grocery lists, and “eating out” support
Health context: weight, measurements, hydration, fasting, sleep, HRV, mood/energy
Motivation: tutorials, XP, streaks, achievements, and rewards
Apple Health integration
I built the MVP on Sept 30, ran a private beta Oct 2, and shipped to the App Store Oct 9. I’m in the early stage now: focusing on retention, tightening onboarding, and converting active users into subscribers without annoying them.
What I’m looking for from this community:
Brutal feedback on positioning: what’s the simplest way to explain the value?
What’s your favorite way to drive activation in a consumer subscription app?
Any lessons learned selling lifetime deals (AppSumo style) for a mobile subscription product?
If you’re willing to test and give honest feedback, I’ll share a code or TestFlight access. Happy to swap feedback on your product too.
