In the first months, the tagline for the product was "Text-to-video for everybody". Smart people told me it'll be easier to sell if I niched down the product a bit. Lots of users have been musicians back then, and I have a music background, so I focussed the platform on music video creation. This was the best move ever, made it much easier to build the product, and to market it.
Focusing on music video creation sounds like a smart move since you already knew the audience and had the background. Niching down really helps cut through the noise and makes marketing way clearer
Really great point about niching down — it’s been a game changer for many products I’ve seen. I’m building an AI compliance assistant focused on helping small businesses navigate HIPAA and GDPR, SOC2, and ISO27001 which can be super overwhelming. If anyone’s curious to see what that looks like or wants to chat about niche strategies in SaaS, feel free to check it out at compliassistant.com — always open to learning from others here!
Hey, do you have an email I can reach you on?
Yeah ofcourse. It's compliassistant@gmail.com
