Niching down to find first customers for audio course marketplace

Hey all we initially launched Avocado (AvocadoAudio.com), a platform for the world’s best audio courses, without any real focus.

We grew quickly on the supply side, but our courses were in all different categories. When we started working on the demand side our messaging wasn’t tight enough and nothing seemed to be converting.

We decided to niche down to focus on just entrepreneurship and digital marketing (basically indie hackers) and expand out from there.

Would love to hear any feedback you have or courses you’d like to see. We have a big curation update to the app coming in the next few days and many more courses in the niche too.

Hope you find your path! Being on a two sided marketplace is always a tricky business. I know someone shared some interesting resources not too long ago, but I am failing to find them back.

This sounds like a good way to grow your initial userbase @colinkeeley. I am finishing up an audio version of a Minimum Viable Product course I have built that I intend to post on Avacado Audio. Great to hear you are focusing on entrepreneurship and intent to branch and grow from there.
