Nnums week 4: The microscope effect

I finished working on a repeatable deploy workflow and got back to working on the actual product.

As I did so, I was hit hard by what I call the microscope effect. That is that when you look into a microscope things that you were able to ignore before are now revealed to be complex and detailed on their own.

Anyway, while I was focused on deploy, it seemed like once I had deploy figured out the product would be ready for launch.

When I actually got down to deploying and thinking things through I had a moment where everything that I had seemed weak. There's a vivid scene in the Absent Minded Professor when he shows people the inside of his amazing flying car. Unfortunately, that car has been swapped for a fake and when he tries to show his revolutionary engine, instead he reveals a hamster wheel driven by a squirrel and some pigeons. Anyway, that's what I felt like looking back at my product in more detail.

So I'll be building a bit even before getting to an initial release.
