No Code tech stack for a subscription business

Hi all,
I started working on an MVP for a carbon footprint offset platform. The idea is that users can offset their personal footprint on autopilot. I'll be doing this through planting trees and working with registered carbon offset programmes.

It needs to allow monthly subscriptions, but ideally also one off purchases too.

I built an MVP (viewable here https://plant-theecodesk.myshopify.com/) using a Shopify store and the PayWhirl recurring payments Shopify app. This was all really simple to set up, and I'm not far from being able to launch it, I just don't want my tech stack to shoot me in the foot.

Down the line, I want to build out the capability for users to have a login and a dashboard which shows them how many trees they have personally planted etc. I already do some work with Webflow, so I'm thinking that would be a good platform.

I figure I can use some combination of:
Webflow - to build the site
Memberstack - for dashboards + gated member pages
Udesly - to convert webflow pages to Shopify
Stripe - if it's better not to run the storefront out of Shopify

Perhaps something I've missed? I just don't want to launch it on Shopify if that setup will shoot me in the foot soon to build out a better setup with the member portal etc.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you'd do.

Thanks in advance :-)

Outseta might be worth a look instead of Memberstack.

Never heard of Outseta. Looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.

@FranCresswell, have you looked at Webflow e-commerce? That might help avoid introducing extra tools (Shopify, and Udesly).

Thanks @rosiesherry - Outseta actually looks amazing. Just gotta figure out how to create a customer dashboard at some point. Outseta is great pretty much straight out of the box for my MVP though :)

Check out Softr.io - a no-code tool to create web-apps like Etsy, Coursera, Upwork, etc on Airtable, in 10 minutes. It supports membership, payments, listing with search, filtering and much more, all in one tool! We have plenty of templates to start with.

Let me know if you need any help :)

Your idea is not new, already there are some players. Not to mention that, you lack a key thing, which is a legit organization to do this kind of work.

      Hi BerryHacker,

I see you've built Gorgeously, which looks awesome. Unfortunately, it's not new. A quick Google search shows the Good News App, Kindling.xyz, and Squirrel News all have legit organizations and have done what you've just launched for much longer. I haven't even scrolled down yet on the Google search either.

There's nothing wrong with your idea or anything I just stated above, the same way there's nothing wrong with what Fran is working on building here.

      Cheers,

      Amar

Hi Amar, just see your reply by now :) When I built the good news app, there was only 2 other big ones, right now there are a lot of them! My good news app will not go anywhere and I dropped it long time ago too because it miss other important elements, although it launched early. Still they are marketing aspects of it. At the time, there was a youtube channel talking about Good News (launch the similar time) got sold to a big company for close to 1M, the youtuber would show up and talk about good news etc...

So I think an app or just a product isn't enough, it requires many other things to make people interested in it. The point is not about encouragement, but find something truly working. As you can see that his project disappeared and mine good news app failed too (won't matter because I failed too many times ! lol )
