No more yearly goals - instead, here are my plans for the next 12 months...

Whenever I set yearly goals in January, by March my priorities have changed completely.

So I've decided to stop setting goals & share my plans (& how they change) for the year ahead instead.

My birthday last week seemed as good a time to start as any - so I've written down my plans for the next 12 months, here

I just started using sparkloop, didnt you change the name? It will succeed. Manuel was awesome with onboarding and a few touches already I can tell its magical for newsletters.

Literally starting to use it this week.

      Awesome, that's great to hear!

Yes, Manuel just came up with the SparkLoop name. Glad to hear it's going well and look forward to helping you grow in the future :D

Come to Brighton in December? Just an hour from London. :)

Will do (and will let you know in advance). Embarrassing as it is, I've never been to Brighton!

“did I achieve what I thought I wanted last year?” to “am I happier now than I was last year?”

This is a tricky one; people who put an importance on happiness are generally less happy. I would think about focusing on fulfillment instead (which is sort of a mix between achievement & happiness?). Just something to think about.

Sounds like a good plan you've got -- will be following your projects. Have you considered formatting your goals more like OKRs? You've kind of done it for the social proof handbook (objective is to launch, key result is to have 2-5 case studies). I personally find that works well for me, so I stay more focused on the specific goals I have.

Berlin is fantastic in the spring & summer, I highly recommend it :)

That's a good point. I'm not focusing actively on 'being happy' - but I am trying not to measure my self-worth and happiness by how well I've achieved goals that I may not even want to achieve any more...

Have you considered formatting your goals more like OKRs?

I used to do this, and will continue to set shorter term, quantifiable goals for specific things (eg conversion rates, $/month etc). But not for larger decisions.

Well, I think that's a good idea. I'm setting monthly goals for the year now. The last one took a year to complete, but I'm getting there ... :)
