No testimonials

Hi ihackers,

Since I don’t have first customers or testimonials, I was wondering if I could use my last companies logo in that section. I’m did data science for Autodesk and built products serving users in similars ways that I’m trying to serve with https://cuanto.io

If there are better ways to handle the testimonial section, please let me know. Thank you!

For us, the first things we did to get reviews for Senja was to reach out to friends and fellow IndieHackers to try our product for free in return for some feedback.

    • Some of them tweeted about us
    • Others left a comment or two

That helped to fill in the void at first.

You've got to take that step to reach out:

    1. Ask friends, or people in your network to try out your product and leave any feedback.
    2. Give away your product to users for free in exchange for a testimonial. One thing I've seen people do is give a massive free trial, like 6 → 12 months.
    3. Join communities and tell the members you're looking for feedback.

We also wrote this blog post that talks about how other makers collect testimonials. You might find a gem or two in it https://senja.io/blog/how-to-collect-testimonials

Hey, here is how we (https://ligalio.com) got the first clients and hence REAL testimonials (which can be done quickly):

    1. Offer your product to friends for FREE in return for a testimonial
    2. Join a local startup community/accelerator/incubator and offer their members your product for free/discount in return for a testimonial or user feedback
    3. Offer a barter deal to some businesses that you know. You provide your product and you get someone else's product and you both write a testimonial for each other

Generally, I am against giving products away for free, but in this case, you can do it a few times to get testimonials and make your website look better.

*We confirmed each testimonial with our client. They wrote the first draft, we corrected it for better SEO, and the client approved the testimonial.

Would be interesting to know how others got REAL testimonials instead of FAKE ones :)

Are you able to reach out to some friends or contacts, offer the service for free just to get some testimonials?

      Love it, reaching out now!
