Folks. I’m in a bind and need some guidance.
I currently have a mid-2012 MacBook Air. It’s been a trooper, but it’s no longer cutting it. Definitely feels sluggish when I’m working (mostly in excel, sometimes InDesign, and a lot of chrome tabs). It’s worth noting that I’m building out a nocode app, which is why I’m here.
Should I keep going with the most recent MacBook Air or switch gears and go for a surface laptop 3? Looking for core i5, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd.
Performance-wise, the surface appears to be superior. Ecosystem-wise, I’m pretty deep with Apple (iPhone, iPad, etc).
I just can’t decide. Both are similarly priced. Guess it may come down to what will last longer?
Thanks in advance for any comments.

Steve, I'd stick with the Mac. In fact, I've got a Macbook (not AIR) that I bought brand new in January 2017 that I would give you a good Indie Hacker deal on. It's been used very little as I picked up a MB Pro about a year later. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.
Can I PM you through this site?
Thanks! I’ll PM you.
Hi Steve, I'm not sure (fairly new to the site). If you click on my profile, I've added my email. Feel free to drop me a line!
I would stick with the Mac since you’re already tied to the ecosystem.
My gut’s telling me the same thing. Thanks!
