I think this book is popular among the community. I took some time to publish my notes.
I had just launched LegUp Ventures and I needed a framework I could use to validate my new venture ideas. The Mom Test came highly recommended from several trusted friends. While the book focuses on business idea validation, the concepts discussed in the book can be used to help validate any idea you have (e.g. family, personal, etc.). I
What is the Mom Test?
The Mom Test is a way to structure your idea validation conversations (i.e. “customer development interviews”) so that they lead to facts versus lies.
(If you can do this the right way, you should even be able to interview your Mom without allowing her to lie to you.)
To pass the Mom Test, you must:
--> Talk about the person’s life instead of your idea
--> Ask about specifics in the past instead of generics or opinions about the future
--> Talk less and listen more
The Mom Test was a hard book to take notes on because it’s a brain dump from an expert. If you want the full experience, I recommend purchasing this book — it’s only 136 pages.
Either way, I hope these notes are helpful.

Glad you found it useful :)
Didn't realize you were on here. Cool... jealous of your sailboat / writing adventures.
It's a great book. Let me know how if there's a way to help with the next one.
If you have an interest in ever writing a non-fiction book, I'm putting together some notes on scoping/design/testing for books-as-a-product which could use more sets of critical eyes on it. Apart from that, I'm mostly starting to focus on software for the self-publishing niche. And enjoying Barcelona and the boat, of course ;)
Awesome. Believe it or not, I actually wrote a book published by Wiley in 2014. It helped save my company at the time. Happy to help with early feedback.
P.S. Have you read The Scribe Method by Tucker Max? I should post those notes...
