Notion: Simple product building system

Using Notion to document, measure and build my progress with building products.

And it's helping me stay organised, so thought I would share with you here get your feedback and help you do better.

Weekly progress:

You might hear about the power of journaling and it's true, after I started documenting my week it helped me stay focused.

Here is how I do it:

  1. Start a document called "Weekly Progress"
  2. Inside it a document of the year "2023"
  3. Inside it a document for each month starting this month, "April", "May" etc
  4. Inside the monthly document, you have 4 documents numbered 1 - 4, these are the weeks

Notion view

Your to do list:

The monthly document (ex: April) can be used as a to do list, you add a checklist of the items you want to work on this month.

This way at the end of each month, you can review it and copy the ones you want to take over to the next month (May) -- and you have a nice log of monthly progress.

Your daily log:

Inside the monthly document (April), you have 4 documents one for each week in the month.

Every day you can update the document of the current week, ex now we are in week 2 of April.

You write the day of the week (ex: Sunday) and under it you write the list of things you are working on and learnings.

Your Growth KPIs:

Inside the weekly document (ex: week 2 of April), you add your Growth KPIs for the week either on a daily basis or weekly total.

Growth KPIs are basically 3 numbers that help you measure your progress, learn more about it here:
