Notion vs Using a combination of Airtable + very organized Google Drive + docs?
Hey everyone. Just curious if anyone has used Notion and found themselves to be remarkably more productive?
Also, does anyone know if it's hard or worth the effort to migrate your current work to Notion?
I use Airtable for tracking my Business Development.
Google Docs for my Product Roadmap, OKRS, project planning, proposals, working docs, and etc.
Google Spreadsheet for one-off stuff like my user research, competitor analysis and etc.
Jumped on the Notion bandwagon because of a post by @rosiesherry. Quickly found @mariepoulin which has been a great resource.
I love the ability to send things to an inbox from any device (was haphazardly using Wunderlist for this before). Being able to have a nice swipe file organized the way I want is also great.
However, I'm the type of person who could lose half a day re-organizing the cabling in my home office so the amount of flexibility has actually been a net negative for productivity. Making progress slowly towards something that I don't have to fiddle with so much but it's a process for sure.
ah interesting, I use trello to manage all my tasks. Might be too late for me to move all my trello over to notion.
In Notion if you go to Settings and then My Connected Apps, you can connect Trello and import your boards really quickly.
Switching to Notion was a complete game-changer for me. COMPLETE. on so many levels. It was the first tool I found that actually allowed me to work the way my brain worked. It literally filled all the gaps of the tools I was currently using, and has made me more mindful, more productive, and certainly, more creative. Happy to chat about it anytime. It's the only thing in my career I've ever doubled down on. I now make a living showing people how to get the most out of it, and use it to run your whole business and life. It has replaced most tools for me: Airtable, Google Docs, Evernote, and Asana are the big ones.
There's a big learning curve, because Notion is not opinionated and you have to design your own systems. For me? it's been SO WORTH the switch for the peace of mind it has given my brain from reduced tech fragmentation.
It's not for everyone, but for many... it's incredibly powerful and worth the learning curve.

Yes, we have a very close relationship, haha. I run their weekly office hours, and also recently presented to their whole team how i have been using + monetizing Notion. We are creatively collaborating :)
