I don't think you have truly validated the idea until you have people ready to pay for your solution.

How would you close the gap from validation process to getting paid?
Set up a Stripe account and ask those people for the money.
I am not sure if there's one answer to each of those questions. It highly depends on the person/project. E.g. for me, a successful launch would mean earning at least 1$.
