I know it is not a Landing page tip or review but it is highly related.
Is this a common strategy? Does it tend to attract a more dedicated and quality user base over sheer quantity? Has anyone here tried it?
Personally I think that depending on the price of the pre-launch deal, I think it would be an awesome validation that you've found product market fit if someone buy your product before it is even finished. It tells you something, if you are successfully selling your product for 1000$ before you even launch it.
I am curious to know what do you think?
So you are thinking in pre-sales of a product that doesn't exist yet ... right ? And it starts at 1000$ ? if you were the client would you buy it ?
or the other hand when Playstation anounces a new playstation why do you thing that many people wants to buy it ?

Looking in pre-sale for a product that does not exist. A kickstarter like approach but for software products... It works for physical products because it Kickstarter works but I haven't seen it for software.
