I would really appreciate some feedback on my design, my current focus is on improving UX: https://i.ibb.co/9tmv7rt/image.png

      Not OP, but I have some ideas;

      • Organize into rows and columns
      • Scale font-size accordingly with UI elements
      • Give additional focus to the header, be it through whitespace, a background color or whatever else.
      • Apply some form of consistency (keep icons the same size)
      • Separate content from metadata (look at the left sidebar).
      • Move the textbox to the top. Timelines go from top to bottom now (newest on top).
      • Choose a picture style and stick to it (rounded or squared?)
      • Give some additional styling to navigation elements. Indicate they are clickable. I think buttons or tabs would already help a lot.

    Thank you!

http://datapeek.org - find hacker news comment with data , to do content marketing.
(As you can see, I am struggling also to explain efficiently the purpose ! )

    Thank you !!

    1. 1

I'm having trouble understanding the purpose of the site. Is this supposed to be like a news site?? I think until you can give a one sentence mission statement of your product, it'll be hard to focus on what you want to display and what functionalities to prioritize.
      Some questions to ask yourself:

      1. Who are my audience?
      2. What value does my product provide them?
      3. When would they come to my site?

I can take a closer look again once I gain a better understanding of your product.

      1. 1

        Thanks for the feedback !

I had already changed the headline . I suppose you saw the last one.
"Find opportunities for data-oriented content marketing on Hacker News"

        The answers to the question:

        1. Who are my audiences?
Entrepreneurs. (As long as they provide a service over mobile or web, they can turn their analytics into marketing messages. )

        2. What value does my product provide them?
It monitors Hacker news and spot instances where they can share their data-inspired wisdom. Which increase their marketing profile.

        3. When would they come to my site?
They would continously monitor either the website or the newsletter to find opportunities. It would be a long running marketing process.

Hope it gives you a better perspective ! I was thinking of putting the "monitor" verb in the headline. Do you think it would help ?

Hired Boss - Productivity app for procrastinators

    Thanks Vivian!

    1. 1

      I'll have a look tomorrow 🤣

    2. 1

      Hope this helps!

      1. The graphic of the boss feels very sexualized. I would consider a different illustration style or focus on the tasks that this service provides (graphics of the task tracking dashboard, check list, communication tools, etc)
      2. If you have a square logo, make sure to apply it to the website favicon as well (how your website shows up on your browser tab)
      3. Consider left aligning your text instead of centering, for better readability
      4. Give more information on how exactly it works. After reading it, I sort of get the impression that I’ll be working with a real person and they’ll keep me on task, but some immediate questions and concerns I have: 1. Who are these people I’ll be working with? 2. What are their qualifications? 3. How do I get paired up with them?
      5. I like that there are 3 different pricing tiers - by selecting the pricing tab, I expected to find a more detailed breakdown of what each plan entails and what types of scenario would I pick each plan
      6. Highlight the values you’ll bring to your users - make the information easy to process (ex: how you highlighted “accountability” - think of a few more keywords that users can associated your product to)
      1. 1

Thanks for the feedback, will look into changes.

  25. 1

    buildfaster.co - Easy-to-use HTML themes that are beautifully-designed

    Thanks Vivian! 😄

    1. 2

      Hope this helps!!!

      1. Love your logo!
      2. Landing page tag line - think about your value proposition and rephrase it so when users see your website they immediately think of how THEY can use your product (a quick example: find the right HTML themes just for you!)
      3. Consider adding a subheader to give more insights on your product since it’ll be the first things users see when they land on your page
      4. The hero image is disproportionate to the the tag line, there is a lot of white space on top & bottom that’s wasted space.
      5. On about page, I expected to learn more about the product: How does it work? What can I use it for? Why should I consider using your product? It is valuable to add your personal story, but consider moving it down and focus the “about” on your product.
      6. I would have About and Themes as your main tabs (aside from the home page), and have contact in the footer.
      7. You can even consider adding an FAQ section (either as a stand alone tab or in the About page) to give a more detailed but organized instruction on how users should use your product
      8. Overall I like that there’s a lot of visuals and you highlight the benefits of your product. Continue focusing on what you want your users to know about your product (help them VISUALIZE using your product with your landing page! why would they choose MY product over my competitors? How will my product help THEM?)
      1. 1

Thanks for the advice! This is very helpful :)
