One bad review hurting growth

Got one bad review on my mobile app, completely unrelated to anything on my side, and since I only have a few reviews, brought my rating (and now download conversions) way down. I tried to remedy and reply but the reviewer still won't update. Any tips on what to do? Or even how to get more people that like the app to review? Daily users are at 50 so people do use / like it, but won't review even with an in-app review reminder.

Maybe directly ask some users personally via email (if you have them)? Either way it could be good to have someo way to direct talk to the users somehow.

If the bad review is UNREASONABLE feel free to send link of your app and I'll post a good review to cancel it out.

Good point, got to get over my fear of "bugging" people and just ask via update emails. The review is on Android (iOS is still 4.7 stars and people seem to review more here), but she claims she started getting sexually explicit messages after she install the app, which for a QR card app you can see why people may freak out. You can see my response to her too. Getting people to do good reviews on Andriod is like pulling teeth, but the bad reviews def come in faster :/

Ah I’m on iOS sorry. It’s hard, seems unfair. I unhelpfuled the review and helpfuled the positive ones.

Meanwhile maybe good to launch on the 100 other websites Indie Hackers recommends for launching to rely less on Android Store algo. And keep improving the product, to copycat Sam Altman, if users love it reviews are much easier to request.
