One Content Platform , Multiple Use Cases

I am planning to build a app which is essentially a content platform where the contents are organized in Channels like Slack.

This one platform can address multiple use cases like HR Portal , Team Documents , Job Portal , Idea Management , Announcement / Product Update etc without solving the problem too much in-depth.

I am thinking teams between 5 members to 50 members can use this kind of platform for their various use cases.

Does this kind of content platform helps the small team ?

    Like what you think @sachingk

Here's what I think you can do better

You've described too many features and functionalities, but what exactly is the problem statement and major persona. Unsure.

Using the legacy image again, most startup fails because there's no market need - try to quickly identify your target persona and dig deep whether their problems align your features. All the best!

My Persona is Small and medium organization with with 5-50 members

Their use cases is such a way that don't really need a dedicated software for it. They generally need some surface level solution and don't need in-depth solution

For example : Idea Management App
      ---------------------------------------------------------
There are dedicated Idea Management software. Few teams just use simple software like trello to manage Idea Management.

A product Idea Management software solves the problem in-depth. While Idea Management solves the same problem at surface level.

      My thought is :
Not all organizations / teams need every problem to be solved to it's complete depth. software that solves the problem at surface level is also good enough for few teams

My platform will cater such use cases.

What do you think... Is It do-able ?

Is the market good enough to give a try ?

You describe an idea in a very generic way and not a Unique Selling Point, the description could match the original IRC, web forums and wikis while also true for enterprise software like Atlassian's confluence, Zendesk Guide...

Everything that stores text is a 'content platform', so is wordpress, and 'Channels' are just a category

    1. 1

You are right... there is a unique selling point in this platform. Let me explain

A content platform is all about

      1. Content Organization
      2. Content Creation
      3. Content Distribution
      4. Content Collaboration
      5. Content Analysis

Now in my platform apart from content organization, everything else will be achieved via plugins.

Which means there will be content creation plugin , content distribution plugin , content collaboration plugins.

Now with a mix and match of these different plugins you can achieve any use case inside a organization.

Did you get the Unique Selling Point of this platform ?

Does this kind of platform be valuable ?

Did you get the Unique Selling Point of this platform ?
        Not really sure about that...
So you'r suggesting a minimalist, no batteries included version of a CMS? (I have a feeling some of these should exist) How would you get enough plugins written so this becomes interesting to a user? what's the extra benefit to the user from assembling a big collection of plugins into his own Frankenstein? what would make it not suck as bad as a big mix of non compatible wordpress plugins?

        1. 1

This will not be yet another Opensource content platform. It will be SaaS based content platform.

So incompatibility issue don't come into picture.

Now the advantage of user assembling is that they can create a mini app based on their need and workflow.

What do you think of it ?

          1. 1

You need to work on your messaging

            1. 1

True.. I am yet to find out how exactly I should present this idea to the people.

What do you think my message should look like ?

              1. 1

I still don't understand you plan, I'm sorry.

Take someone you can explain it to, face to face and get him to tell it back to you, learn from the words he uses...

I think this could potentially help small and even medium teams get more organized and help spread information across the team members!

      Thanks for your reply.

What content platform do you use and why ?
