Before we dive into this story, I wanted you to know that this is my first ever post on IndieHackers and I'm super thrilled :)
So on May 11th, I decided to list my startup, Support Guy (supportguy.co), on Microns.io and Acquire.com and within no time I started getting a few offers and I was engaged in initial discussions with a few potential buyers. But then, on Mother's day I got an interesting message from a buyer.
Here's how it went:
"Hey it's us again! We love Cold DM and love this tool too! We'd be able to close quickly again :)"
-- Andrew from XO Capital
So here's the twist:
Andrew isn't a stranger to my indie hacking journey. They previously acquired my first startup, Cold DM (colddm.me), last November when it was only making $68 MRR. Since then, Cold DM experienced an exponential rise, surpassing $2000 MRR.
This was a no-brainer for me. I signed the purchase agreement in less than 30 minutes from him making first contact. He already had my payment info on file and started wiring money and I started transferring the assets on the same day. Since we both knew each other, there was a lot of trust and the whole process was very easy.
With their impressive track record, I'm super excited to see how they grow SupportGuy. You can check out our their SaaS portfolio at https://xo.capital.
This is my 2nd exit since I started my indie hacking journey 9 months ago.
So, what's next? Keep learning and building exciting products 🚀
Hey @shri, I saw SupportGuy on Acquire. Good job on the acquisition!
• Are you able to share how much you got for it?
• Why did you sell it? Do you prefer the process of building --> selling than growing a product, or did you just feel that you couldn't get traction?
