Hi all, I just launched my landing page for my side project “Punkt”. It’s a one-sentence journaling app that helps you to learn more about yourself, by just writing a sentence each day.
I would love to hear your feedback on the landing page. https://punktapp.me
Many thanks!
Looks beautiful and "happy", if that's the right word... :)
Really liked the idea but I have a feeling that once I get used to writing one sentence a day, I might want to start writing more gradually or capture more on specific days (eg., I'd like to capture various places I went to on a trip).
Love the fact that it is completely private.
More features section can be better. It breaks the beautiful design with uneven card heights and the centered list items in the first card.
Liked the idea behind the name but it doesn't roll off the tongue really well and also doesn't feel like the name of a journaling app.
Is this only for ios?
I'm glad you get a "happy" emotion when browsing the site. That's definitely something I want to achieve with this.
Adding more locations is very interesting input. You are right that there are days when you want to add more locations.
Thanks for the feedback on the website as well. I'm also not happy with the more features section, exactly because of the points you mentioned.
It will be only for iOS, as my Android skills are not really good, to say the least.
Locations was just an example. I meant that there might be days when I want to actually sit down and write more than a sentence.
Would've love to sign up for this if it were for Android also. Bookmarked it in case I switch to iOS in the future... :)
All the best.
Yeah, I get what you mean. Thanks for your great feedback. I think this might be a good feature for more advanced users. I really want to keep the entry barrier as low as possible and therefore using the "one-sentence" technique. Thank's again for your help.
Cool. All the best.
link?
That’s a very good point indeed! Sorry for missing the most important thing. Updated the post 😅
Thanks for pointing it out.
No worries. Added my thoughts.
I like the landing page a lot. The design seems to fit well with the type of app you're making. An odd dev-specific question: are you using swift UI or UIkit to build the interface? And how much iOS dev experience do you have?
That's awesome, I'm really glad that you like the design. That's a very good question, I haven't made a decision yet. I would really love to do it with SwiftUI but I feat that there are still too many limitations as I want to ship it very fast.
I've started iOS developing about 8 years ago and I've also lectured at university. Right now I'm doing an online course for iOS programming. 👨💻
Its looks amazing and clean. Thumbs up from here ;-)
Thanks for your kind words @tonyfonager!
whats the reward to keep users engaged with the app
nice idea btw...
That's a very good question and that surely becomes a big challenge. First of all, I want to bring journaling closer to people. "One-sentence a day" is a low barrier to get started. I was also thinking of gamification elements, such as streaks etc.
Push notifications to get reminded are pretty obvious and there is a morning motivation quote every day. While these are nice features to keep users engaged, I think the most promising reward is that you start reflecting on yourself and live a better life. It lets you appreciate good times even more and helps you to overcome rougher times in life.
sounds good...i like the gamification idea as well
Interesting idea. I like the low bar of just one sentence. Blogging feels like a lot of work often. Is this just iOS? Also, name could be more direct.
You are totally right. I really want to make this as easy as possible. It's all about getting started and I think the one-sentence technique lowers the barrier for this. I'm doing iOS only as I don't have any good Android dev skills. The name stands for punctuation mark in German, it's the last thing you do when finishing a sentence. Maybe the German word makes it easy to understand. Thanks for your great feedback.

I'm glad you like the idea. You probably mean "Reflectly". It's a great app indeed but lacks some of the features I really needed myself, e.g. adding locations.
