One week after - launching an RSS-based social network
So about a week ago I launched a very early prototype of my RSS-based social network https://www.kalaksi.com
My intention was to get a few users to look at it (especially more tech-savvy ones, and with love for RSS and the syndicated web).
Until now, I have been doing regular daily releases with new features and improvements. The initial version was quite limited, but since then I have implemented
- friends management
- trending content
- notifications for comments and possibility to follow posts
- embedded tweets and other media
- opengraph meta tags to make sharing in other platforms look good
- 2FA
and today will release v0.6 which has a first implementation of a global search (for posts, planets and people).
It's been quite a ride and the discord is proving useful to chat with folks that like the project and have ideas to share.
I'm hoping to fix a few more things, add 1 or 2 more important features and then do a more important release to bring more people in.
