Hey guys,
I am about opening my personal shop where I want to sell some stuff for designers. Imagine some UI Kits, what combo should I use? Both solutions code or no-code are the way to go.
I want to easily edit if I have a new kit ready.
I want to optimize the cost per sold item. (I want to pay at least as I can from the sold product.)
I was thinking about Squarespace, Shopify, or Webflow solution. Or just code the page and use the Stripe on top of it.
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
I also recommend Woocommerce. It is simple and easier to use and manage compared to other platforms like Magento or others
thank you! :)
Personally, I’d go the route of least resistance and choose tools you are most familiar with. I’ve been building with WordPress for a decade, so I tried two plugins to handle the transaction functionality. Finding the cheapest solution shouldn’t be the biggest deciding factor. I chose WooCommerce, free, and spent much longer configuring it to how I wanted... and will likely end up paying for a few expensive extensions to make it work even better. Where as I used a more specific plugin for another project that took much less dev time, but started with a $99/yr price tag, both options with stripe. Point being, don’t get stuck on the tech, and worry more on the actual product and marketing. Once, you are making enough that 15% fee really hurts too much, it will be worth it to upgrade the experience.
Thanks!
I will try to continue with Gumroad and I will see how it goes. Do you know what income can be the breaking point when I should think of different integration?
I will sell only online stuff and have up to 10 items.
Up to you, but you can probably get the transaction fee closer to 5%, so you'll be bleeding about 10%. At $1000/mo, that equates to $100/mo in extra fees and at that point is when I'd make the change. I'd only make the change earlier if you didn't have anything else critical to improve. Good luck!

Hey @TaimoorJS,
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am using Gumroad nowadays, but I was thinking, that it is charging quite a lot. If the person gives me 100$, I get 85$ out of it.
Because I won't have a lot of stocks, I was also considering using Stripe + something for automate the e-mails.
