I had the chance to interview 45 German Startup Founders..
That's a nice article.
What I believe is that luck is just hard work in the right direction!
Hard work and pushing things in the right direction are obviously important, but there's always going to be things that are outside of your control as well whether good or bad. I think that's usually what people are referring to when they talk about luck.
I don't think it's luck. However it's such a complex and large stream of (quite logical) decisions and actions to make that on the big scale it's impossible to get them all right. Then you get a mix and something that is hard to control and influence entirely, so we call it "luck" at some point
True, but in the case of the two startup founders it was luck. Its ok to say that you found a problem by luck, or that you met someone by luck. How you acted on that event, is the work or the decision making part.
Interesting point of view because luck can have both negative or positive effectsSometimes there are unavoidable twists of fate that bring your company to the next level, or to its knees. However, only research and thoughtful planning is the key to ensuring that you’ve got a product that will perform well and respond to market volatility.
call it luck, call it fate, call it anything.. but there is no plan that you can just follow and everything would work as expected.
