ONLYOFFICE 9.4 Adds Mistral AI to Mobile and Updates Desktop Apps

By RedPressWire · June 3, 2026

ONLYOFFICE has released version 9.4 of its free office applications, including the ONLYOFFICE Documents mobile app for Android and iOS and ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors for Windows, Linux, and macOS. The update puts AI-assisted editing at the forefront, introduces practical improvements for mobile users, and delivers a broad set of enhancements across the desktop editors alongside key security fixes.

AI-Assisted Editing on iOS with Mistral

Version 9.4 introduces Mistral as a new open-source AI provider in document and spreadsheet editors. Users can perform AI-powered tasks directly inside the editors by connecting and selecting Mistral models for content generation, text refinement, data analysis, and other productivity workflows.

More Control and Flexibility on Mobile

Beyond AI, ONLYOFFICE Documents 9.4 brings several improvements that make the mobile editing experience more practical for Android and iOS users.

Both apps now support manual save control for cloud documents. Users can disable autosave and manage when changes are saved, giving them greater control over their workflow. Comment sorting and filtering have also been introduced on both platforms, making it easier to navigate feedback in collaborative documents. A redesigned quick actions layout provides faster access to a wider range of tools.

Platform-specific additions:

  • Android — A dedicated Formulas tab in the Spreadsheet Editor, making formula entry more accessible on smaller screens.
  • iOS — Insert multiple images at once, add line numbers to documents, reorder spreadsheet sheets easily, and create presentations faster with new themes and portrait or landscape slide orientation.

Our priority is to make document work seamless across devices — especially on mobile, where flexibility and speed matter most. That is why we continue investing in a consistent experience across mobile and desktop applications, while expanding AI flexibility through support for Mistral. We believe users should be able to choose AI models that fit their workflows, security requirements, and infrastructure.

Desktop Updates

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 9.4 introduces improvements that apply across all editors. The update adds a Croatian language interface translation, moves chart settings into a dedicated Chart design tab, and expands clipboard paste options on the top toolbar.

Each major editor also receives targeted enhancements:

  • Document Editor — Supports inserting horizontal lines.
  • Spreadsheet Editor — Introduces Dark mode support at the sheet level.
  • Presentation Editor — Ships with 25 new design themes and 20 new slide transitions grouped by category, giving users significantly more creative flexibility.

PDF Form Improvements

PDF forms have also been updated. ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 9.4 saves the most recently added signature image so it can be automatically applied when a form is filled out again. Two new panels — Send for signing and Filling status — are added to streamline document signing workflows.

Security Fixes

The desktop release addresses several security vulnerabilities, including:

  • Out-of-bounds read issues in XLS-to-XLSX conversion.
  • A flaw in GUID generation that could allow prediction based on creation time.
  • A vulnerability that permitted bypassing macro sandbox restrictions.

Availability

ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors 9.4 and ONLYOFFICE Documents 9.4 for Android and iOS are already available as free downloads on the official website and in the app stores.
