Open call for hackers, entrepreneurs, fellow humans

Hi, my name’s Will, an avid lover of building software, long time hacker, lurker and very interested in technology and it’s ability to empower society and incite change.

Currently employed full-time and essentially been in some level of lockdown for the past six months. I’ve hacked on a couple of projects in that time but never getting to the point of launching. My strength lies in technology and product however execution in the absence of accountability has been a major hurdle of mine. Hence why I’m looking for like-minded collaborators.

A little about myself. Almost a decade of experience building software, six of those years in industry with a combination of small startups and large companies. In the past few years I’ve specialised on backend engineering but for a long time worked across the entire stack. Generally happy to jump into any technology that gets the job done.

Not really sure about the nature of our relationship will be. But hoping to talk to like-minded entrepreneurs, hackers, designers, humans and potentially collaborate on something and see where we go from there.

Not exhaustive but I’ve listed a few spaces I’d be interested in exploring.

Future of work:
I believe we’re witnessing a huge shift from traditional 9-5 office jobs to online jobs that didn’t and couldn’t exist even a few years ago. Companies I think that are changing the definition of “work”.

  • Patreon
  • Youtube
  • Onlyfans
  • Substack

Future of remote work and collaboration:
With the shift to remote work it’s apparent we need an entire suite of tools to enable collaboration over the internet. For us, these tools have been paramount to building software remotely.

  • Figma
  • Slack
  • Meet
  • Clubhouse
  • AR/VR?

Alternative lifestyle movements:
Even though I’m confined to my house, the revelation that is remote work has me thinking of all the alternative lifestyles that have now been made much more practical and accessible. Remote work will empower people to live and pursue the living situation they find most rewarding.

  • Digital nomadism
  • Vanlife
  • Tiny houses
  • etc...

You can reach me however you prefer, I've listed my Twitter and email on my profile.

Not in a rush, hoping to forge long-lasting relationships with people in the community. I look forward to hearing from you all.

Cheers,
Will

“The future of remote work and collaboration” part honestly feels more important every year 😭

A lot of remote work exhaustion now comes from fragmented communication, nonstop notifications, and context switching between tools all day. CortexSage helped me reduce some of that chaos.

@William I run www.tractionmate.com and work with developers and early startup founders to build early traction. And, I also run another productized service to build an email list using lead magnets and a few other tactics. It's @ https://www.listbuildify.com

Let me know if there is any value that I can add to your gameplan.
