Open source Videoconferencing for those working from home
Hello everyone, I just wanted to make a quick mention of Jitsi. The open-source video conferencing platform. It makes adding video conferencing to web platforms extremely easy.
Our site is currently growing very rapidly as we offer free video conferencing for small teams. Not making money out of this, but at least we are happy to see our platform being used and helping people.

I was wondering if maybe this it's a good fit as an addon to your product.

Hello, that sounds very interesting! We use Jitsi also but the idea of having someone else take care of it sounds great. We can save some money by not having to host the server ourselves. Can you share more details?

Lets discuss it here, it may help other people and bring you some clients. So how does it work, do you have an API?
Yes, we provide an API that allows you to create the meeting (launch the VM), you need to configure the number of participants, when it should start (date and time), duration, preferred location and if you want a waiting room (to enable moderator password feature on jitsi).
Every meeting gets a unique subdomain making it harder to discover and attack.
Once you created the meeting you and the participants will receive an RSVP to their email addresses and also when the server is ready (usually 10 minutes before the meeting begins ).
Once the meeting ends (the duration is reached) the VM gets destroyed.
I'm working on extending the API to provide more flexibility but you can also use our dashboard to manually shutdown the meetings before the end time.
It's a pay-per-user model: 5 participants (limit is not enforced), 3 hours: USD 0.06.
I'm also working in a subscription model where you can deploy in your infrastructure to have more control since my main goal with this is to provide a decentralized way of having videoconferences in favor of privacy.

Sounds extremely useful. The 10minutes setup time worries me, is there a way to bring down those numbers?
No, it doesn't take 10 minutes to install. All meetings are launched 10 minutes before just to be safe. The worst waiting time I've seen so far it's 4 minutes and it has to do with the fact that sometimes the jitsi and dependencies repos are too slow in some locations (we're using DO for now).
I'm not a big fan of backing images at this stage, but it's something that could be implemented.
If you can get those times down to say a minute, It sounds like something we will be interested in using. Are we able to set our branding?

AFAIK there's no chance to get under 1 minute because the creation of the VM (bare bone) takes between 40/60 seconds depending on region and vendor. And jitsi meet installation takes the rest.
I might be able to reduce it to an average of 1.30 top.

Thank you for the update, that is starting to sound interesting. Do you think under a minute is achievable? At that point, we will go ahead and replace our server.
I've been doing some testing and I change a few things around and managed to reduce the time to 1.20 approx.
