Spent the last 2 years building HireUp for Shopify merchants. It's a hosted careers page and applicant tracker. Businesses use it to publish job listings, collect applications, and manage candidates without paying for a full ATS like Workable or Greenhouse.
Today I'm opening it up to any business with a website. If you've got a small site and you hire occasionally, you can sign up, create your listings, and either share the careers page URL directly or embed the listings on your own site.
Looking for the first 10 founding members. Free for life in exchange for using it and telling me what's working and what isn't.
This is a good expansion move, but the positioning probably needs to change now that HireUp is no longer just for Shopify merchants. For Shopify, “hosted careers page + applicant tracker” is clear enough because the audience is narrow. For any business with a website, the sharper angle is probably “lightweight hiring infrastructure for businesses that are too small for a full ATS.”
That distinction matters because Workable and Greenhouse are not really the enemy for tiny teams. The enemy is the messy in-between stage: job posts scattered across pages, applications coming through email, no clean candidate pipeline, and no reason to buy a heavy ATS yet.
One thing I’d watch is the HireUp name. It is clear, but also very common-sounding in hiring. If this becomes a broader hiring workflow layer for small businesses, Beryxa .com would give it a more ownable SaaS brand than a descriptive hiring name.
Really smart positioning — there’s a huge gap between “simple hiring needs” and expensive ATS platforms like Workable or Greenhouse.
The embedded listings + lightweight applicant tracking approach makes a lot of sense for smaller businesses that hire occasionally.
Emmanuel here 👋
I’d be interested in testing HireUp and giving honest feedback on UX, onboarding, workflows, and product experience as a founding member.
