Our New Product: Helping you Launch a Landing Page and get validation in 5 mins

Hey! Thanks for checking this out.

A test version of the product can be found at: https://editor.m-winkler.at/

The aim of the product is to allow you to:

  • Get a landing page up for your new idea as fast as possible - using pre-made sections, technical features and text, allowing you to get validation and get an idea of the demand for it
  • Not having to worry about setting up mailing lists and hosting, and other technical features - instead having an quick out-of-the-box solution
  • Not having thousands of customization options like other “simple” landing page builders, to be fast and efficient

A couple of things to bear in mind:

  • This is just a basic proof of concept of the tool, it will look nicer etc. after more development
  • Some parts of the website accessible through the builder e.g. the account page and home page do not have full functionality

If you feel like giving some feedback a few questions we have are:

  • Do you think this is a good idea for a tool in general?
  • Would you use this to get a landing page up and running fast?
  • Are there any other sections you would like to have or are these enough?
  • Are there any specific features that you think a tool like this should have?
Would you prefer to download the page and host it yourself or have it hosted by us?
  • Are there any suggestions you have for naming the product?
  • Feel free to answer any/none of these in the comments or we have a survey form if you want something more structured: https://forms.gle/8pZX2URzhmYjqofK9

Thank you :) - Matthias (@kirbby) and Toby

Would you use this product(assuming it was fully developed)?

    Hey Matthias and Toby,

I'm thrilled to discover that we're on the same page!

I'm Luo, the founder of EarlyBIrd. I launched EarlyBird in December 2022 with the goal of assisting early-stage startups in validating their ideas through a simple landing page for collecting interests.

Today, we have reached 3,000 customers, with 113 of them being paying customers. It has been an incredible journey growing alongside them. Despite facing competition from various website builders and landing page creators in the market, our approach sets us apart. By offering assistance to those seeking idea validation, we emerge as winners.

As a SaaS solution, we take care of hosting landing pages for our customers so they can focus on their business without worrying about server management. We understand that non-technical users find this aspect challenging.

I hope everything is going smoothly for you both. Feel free to reach out anytime. I always welcome a chat. You can also follow my progress on X (https://twitter.com/luobaishun), where I am building in public.

      Hey Luo,
      nice to hear that.
      EarlyBird looks really good!

With our approach we want to use AI only for specific tasks (if needed) and not for the whole page in one go.

Wishing you all the best with EarlyBird!

  2. 2

Dude I needed this! I hate trying to think and make of landing pages. Id rather prove out my idea quick!

    1. 1

Exactly that was our need too!

  3. 2

There are already things like 60sec. site, carrd. co and durable. co along with many many others; what are you doing differently?

    1. 2

We don't want to have the full page built by AI, since it usually requires a lot of fine tuning by the user after generation, which is often the same if not more work, than doing it yourself with predefined templates.
If you need help to get good copy we have planned to include AI to help with specific texts in the page.

carrd for example has a really sophisticated editor, which is overkill for most simple landing pages to validate an idea. You need quite some time to get familiar with those editors and also have to have a good feeling for design so everything looks good together.

This is a very interesting product. Quick landing pages instead of spending days on a design. Love this! I'll be using this service a lot for my upcoming projects.

    1. 1

Nice to hear that you are interested!

We hope to have a first usable version running soon.

    2. 1

Sure, looking forward to assisting you with your next big idea!

Although it's primitive, I like the general style of the page. It reminded me of typedream and I think a good thing to do that got me use typedream is have a concept of style. Typedream uses the line that they have 'apple/ios' style landing page.

Also another personal opinion of mine - for early stage Saas founders, it isn't the lack of easy tools that is hard but the unawareness of them that makes this a problem i think. So finding a good channel to reach out to them might help!

I would've used it if someone came up to me when i first started building things!

    1. 1

      Thanks for your thoughts!
It definitely is a challenge to get the awareness of your target group, especially when they have the skills to do it "the more complicated" way, like just building a page from scratch.

Hi John! I would use this. but a different, modern design and good optimization would be essential for me to make the payment commitment. also, perhaps have a free trial so we can test before?

    1. 1

Hey Julia - yeah we'd definitely make the design better and have stuff like free trials before we launch, this is kinda just a test to see if the idea has potential.

      Thx :) - Toby

No this is just template/placeholder for now.

The whole thing is just a quick proof of concept.

      1. 1

Any sense of what the pricing will look like?

        1. 1

Not yet tbh, we haven't even decided on the features for launch.
We will do an update post as soon as we know more about features and pricing!

I don't understand how someone could create a SaaS product and not invest in their landing page. It's like not investing in your physical store. We've spent a significant amount on designing and developing truggl , and it's continually improving. I believe that every business owner with the budget should invest in a landing page.

    1. 1

This is aimed at people, that want to validate their idea before building it, while investing little time and money into that step.
It makes little sense to spend days on making a landing page for a project that has a good chance it will never be built.

In those cases it makes more sense to have a simple template which our app will provide, that you can get live in a few hours max.

This is not meant to be a landing page builder for your business or SaaS with 100s or even 1000s of users.

      1. 1

I am talking about people who are at a more advanced stage in their SaaS journey, already making more than $2K in MRR.

        1. 1

Yes I understand, our product will not be targeted or suitable for those people.

      2. 1

Think of it this way to. If your product is so desirable that people will sign up even with a cheap landing page they probably resonate with the message.

        1. 1

Exactly that, and from what I read. Good copy and a decent design is way better, than bad copy and fabulous design.

  8. 1

This idea has potential, but there are many competitors in the market.

    1. 1

The goal is to have a platform that provides you only a few options and is very simple, that you don't get caught in the weeds.
Just convey your message with very little setup time and effort.

Most platforms offer so many functions that you get lost quite fast.

      1. 2

Yup. Would definitely use this. Especially if it has a modern Tailwind UI type look to it. I was just thinking how I'd like to use something like this :)

        • Definitely prefer this idea to overly complicate AI options out there. Just give me a few nice template to choose from and get up and running.
        1. 1

          That's the idea!
And it already uses Tailwind :)

The design still needs some tuning, especially on mobile.
The accent color is the only design part selectable by the user for now.

    Hey Mathias/Toby.

Just saw this, wanted to ping you. Have you thought of adding simple "viral" ReferralID/email function to allow users to "extend" the reach from having users refer other users to the landingPage?

You might be able to have multiple "tiers" as the viral process would have a cost due to the email processing..

I've got more questions, and would like to discuss via email/phone if you're in the US.

    hit me up

Hey Bruce, thanks for the comment.

Yeah we'll definitely be looking at lots of options when we're at a stage further in development, that idea sounds really interesting.

      Cheers :)
