Our (Planned) Growth Loop

I shared our (planned) Sales Workflow the other day and I wanted to also share some of the starting block that I'm working out of as it relates to our growth loop for our platform, product, and community.

You can see my rough draft here:

Essentially, the idea is that our product should, in a sense, "sell itself" — this is never actually the case, of course, as you always need a compelling and highly-useful product in addition to clear and cogent copywriting which helps frame the product towards validation and conversion.

Here's how it might operate (the most important word is "might" as we will have to test-drive this hypothesis when we launch!):

  1. A new builder (i.e. early-stage founder, project owner) joins the YEN Community and experiences our product...
  2. The builder then decides to use YEN for their own community after having experienced the product and its value...
  3. After getting setup, a builder's community members experience YEN...
  4. A % of the builder's community members become "new" builders themselves and decide to launch their own community on YEN.

Why does this work? Here are a few thoughts that I captured:

  1. "Woke" builders use YEN. I call this the #wokecycle because I only want to attract and sell to folks who understand the importance and nuance of community-first. These are going to be the more progressive founders and project builders who eat, sleep, and shit community.
  2. We obsessively focus on the builder's brand... not ours. Our success is intimately tied with them growing their community, providing exceptional value to their members, and successfully scaling their revenue — nothing else fucking matters.
  3. Key attributes of this engagement are: Speed and Pricing, at least for now. This is where I want to focus our first copywriting exercises.

Then, of course, the picture:

I can't wait to start testing it!
