Sorry for breaking it to you.
But no.
Here's why.
You built a thing for yourself. And you like it.
Cool.
But the second you ask real users to roast it, you will learn that your product isn't good.
It's a pile of crap that some people find good enough to pay money for.
And at this moment, you will stop telling everyone about your superior product. A shortcut to become humble.
It will never be good for everyone.
You can improve UX. Cover edge case. Add valuable features. Improve onboarding.
Stop describing your product like a finished masterpiece. It's an ongoing experiment.
You might become good for most of your audience. In 5-10 years. But for now, cut the BS.
Experimenting with the sales offer is marketing.
Adding new features is product.
Adding new features to improve the perceived value of your sales offer is ...?
Marketing is not just about acquiring users.
It's also about finding the ideal customer (and pivoting the product)
It's also about increasing the conversion rate of your marketing funnel (and improving the first product sessions of new users)
Every time you do marketing, you improve the product. Every time you improve the product, you do marketing.
They are inseparable.
Lying to yourself about the product's quality is understandable.
But not very useful.
P.S. I collected 5 free ChatGPT mega-prompts to build better indie products
