Our strategy to win SEO with simple AI Wrappers. Fast!

Sorry, but posting 1000 AI-generated articles is not how you win SEO in 2023. Posting high-quality articles is not an option, too. Most of the keywords (even niched) have become too competitive, especially for solo and inside founders.

But we found a solution: creating simple Free tools.

It took us less than 2 months to rank #1 by popular requests. And the outcome is better than expected: we get around 100 emails every day.

Simple how-to:

  1. Find mid-competitive keywords. That will be your tool name.

  2. Build a simple tool with no-code. It should take less than 1 week: calculator, generator (API call to OpenAI), recommendation tool, etc.

  3. Double down on the Product Hunt launch. Believe me, you don't need 100 paid startup directories if you get in the top-3. You'll get featured in AI-related newsletters and directories for free & without any effort from you.

  4. Promote your paid product inside this free tool (or create an upsell email chain).

Our results with this strategy

— increased our revenue from 5K/Mo to 20K/Mo in 5 months
— 6,480 clicks on not-branded keywords from SEO
— 1M+ views on TikTok/Reels/Shorts on autopilot (without outreach or budget, influencers love talking about free tools)
— 50+ newsletter features (not sponsored)

The tools results:

  1. Value Proposition Generator (1 month old)

— #2 Product of the Day
— 8981 unique visitors
— 1589 emails collected

  1. Business Ideas Generator (3 months old)

— #1 Product of the Day
— 16,255 unique visitors
— 1027 emails collected

  1. User Persona Generator (5 months old)

— #1 Product of the Day
— 81,683 unique visitors
— 11,002 emails collected

P.S. we also launched a course about this strategy. Check it out here

This is awesome. As a dev with not much experience in marketing, I've been struggling to figure out an SEO strategy for my debut app on Product Hunt. Thanks for sharing your insights!

great example of growth by adding value. there's no cheat sheet, people use, engage with and share the things which actually offer something real. well done on the tools, they're a perfect mix of simplicity and value. it's not trivial to build tools which are so easy to use.
