Overcoming procrastination thru Gamification

I'm working on a life gamification thing for myself, and just wondering if it'd be useful for other people.

In broad strokes, it'll be a bot + trello + an RPG game. You'll provide it your todos, your schedule, and it'll give you bite sized tasks (e.g work on X todo for 15 mins).

If you complete the task, you get points which you could spend on rewards (e.g watching netflix for an hour costs 100 points, and working 15 mins earns you 10 points). The points are based on how hard it was for you to do the task. E.g if you had a week where you got nothing at all done, working for 15 mins might give you a huge reward.

If you fail to start the task, it responds by either penalizing you for every minute you delay, by telling you to do something different, or by giving you a break (based on your past patterns and emotional state at the time).

You can give it feedback on your emotional state anytime (e.g I'm excited, bored, unmotivated, etc) by clicking emojis, and the tasks / rewards / penalties are based on your emotional state. The idea is to hit the sweet spot where your productivity and happiness are both maximized.

Finishing tasks also helps you level up. You see your progress / time visually, color coded.

I know this is kind of vague and may be hard to visualize - but just wondering if it sounds useful to anyone else, and do you see yourself potentially open to paying $30 / month for something like this?

I like the idea. it is similar to what @Nikoisonfire said. I think make it free for individuals and charges for corporate users. Free users will make your user base for your charged clients.

I would definitely try it and I like the idea, but I think a subscription of $30 would probably scare me away.

Sounds exactly like the premise of https://habitica.com/

I like the idea. Could be very useful in today's society specifically for mental health awareness. Would I pay $30? Possibly, but would need to be a killer proposition

This is a really cool idea! I feel like $30.00/month is a little steep – I'd be willing to pay $5 to $10 (anywhere in that range).

I think make a base version for free and then charge for a premium service. Love the idea of life gamification but I think 30 quid would be too steep for me. Personally I would never pay more than 20 quid for any in-app subscription, the main reason being that I can use my phone credit to pay (Carrier Billing) for it and I top up by 20 quid per month.
