Paid Newsletter Advice

Last year we started a project with a data scientist where we were going to offer sport picks using a paid newsletter. We went with WooCommerce Subscriptions at the time but haven't launched yet due to the coronavirus which gives us some time to make sure we are launching using the right tools.
Our website looks pretty decent right now with WooCommerce Subscriptions and Paypal + Stripe gateway payments. However, I don't have a lot of experience with Mailchimp or other mailing software and I'm not sure how to make sure paying subscribers are added to a list and / or removed from the list after they stop paying. I would like to run some email automation as well (welcome email, payment due, discount for unsubscribing, etc). Also not sure what I would need to use to send invoices to my subscribers automatically.

Right now I'm wondering if it would be easier to migrate to something like Ghost or Substack that would handle email newsletters automatically and be more integrated.

I will be forever grateful if you help me out with this dilemma :)

I'd suggest to look into Zapier. You should be able to automate quite a lot of things you are describing with it.

    Hi there.
Instead of using WooCommerce subscriptions, use memberspace that is specifically built for this purpose.
You can have unlimited members, payment flexibility such as recurring (e.g. $99/month), multiple (e.g. 3 payments of $100), one-time payment, and only members will be able to see your content.

Another nice thing, all subscribers are directly added to your Mailchimp list.

    I hope it helps.
