Partnership as an Independent sales representative or distributor

I am looking for business opportunities and making partnerships with entrepreneurs who either already have an MVP, or just an idea but with the technical knowledge of crystallizing it. I want to invest in different types of product developments. My idea of the partnership is to help you in the commercialization of your product in general, or in a specific region like LATAM and Spain, and I will invest my own capital in promoting it. I have had some experiences with previous startups and family firms. I have lived in Spain, US and UK, but I am currently in Mexico where I have some real estate related businesses.

I can help with promoting your product and finding potential customers, developing your marketing materials professionally, validating your product, understanding your real value proposition(s) to your target market, and understanding its true potential.

Get in touch if you are interested, by posting here, or sending an email to my personal account. I Would love to hear from you and discuss your ideas further.

Hi Salvador. Take a look at stackmuncher.com. It is just a github search tool at the moment. You can get an idea where it's heading if you go to this hidden URL stackmuncher.com/about. Happy to tell you more if you like that space.

Hello Max, thanks for reaching me out. I visited your webpage and the hidden URL, seems really promising what you are doing there. I understand some of the limitations, and have some doubts in others as it is not something I fully understand.

One question I have is, if someone wants to play the system, can it be easily done? What mechanisms do you have in order to limit or contain this issue?

Also, have you already taken this idea to the validation stage? Like talking to different HR managers. From what I know, this could be really valuable for many who are exactly looking for candidates with an IT background, and it will be especially valuable if you could make their lives simpler, since many of those managers and personnel that are scouting for talent don’t understand many of the technicalities. I understand the reason of “don’t rank developers or define what a “good” developer is” but it will be of value for the employers, you don’t need to create a rank, or making public all the metrics to everyone, but I think that there could be some additional metrics than can be included, without breaking the “No member ranking” principle. For instance, you can put some general metrics that are only seen by employers on how many lines of code a typical undergraduate generally has, how many does one that has just graduated, someone with X´s # of experience. There will be no link that stack muncher directly does with a particular developer, but it will help recruiters on their job. You can do other similar metrics like this one, and as you have made evident, always having in mind not to rank people or make judgments on their abilities, that's the job of the employer. There are also many filters that you could add, as a country, a graph of activity history.

For people like me that don’t understand much about coding, but that want to work along with you, it is very useful to see the portfolio of products, or milestones that a developer has made. So, I guess, that could be something useful to consider as well for those developers that want to complete their profile. Something similar to what you find in freelancer sites like Fiverr or Upwork, among others. What are your next steps for this project? How do you visualize the final version? Are you focusing on making a type of job search site? Hope these comments could be of some help, and will be very happy to keep on the conversation.

Spot on! Very good questions :)

I have more data than I can handle. Extracting those additional metrics takes time and effort, so I'm tackling them one at a time. Added timezone availability in the last couple weeks. Working on adding years of experience per language and location. You noticed those gaps yourself.

Going through the validation right now. The easy-to-reach recruiters need a higher level search than I cannot deliver right now. E.g. they search for a "full-stack" developer without specifying (understanding?) what is in that stack. It's hard to shift them to being more specific. The harder to reach hiring managers can do a very specific search, but it takes ages to find and contact them. Also, they are not comfortable reaching out to candidates directly. That's what recruiters do.
A bit of a catch-22, but I'm working on it.

Gaming the system is very easy, but where does it take you?
I can write anything I like in my LinkedIn profile and get a ton of interview invitations that I know I will most likely fail.
Some will still try to game it just for the same of it. I think the answer is in constructing the workflow so that it makes no difference to the outcome.
If I am headhunting and approaching candidates one by one then there is a cost to me in approaching a fake profile. STM won't charge for that - all public profiles are free to find and approach.
Paying customers will build a shortlist that can include "private" profiles and STM will email those people a short message:
"Such and such is interested in your skills 1-2-3. They pay $$$, which is $$$ above your set minimum and the nature of work matches your interests (industry A, startup, team of X ppl). Apply here if interested."

That's pretty much what devs want - give me relevant info and check my skills before approaching me. It's not bullet proof, but it should be an improvement on the current status quo. If any of them inflate their skills, that doesn't take them far. Makes STM look bad, so we'll have to identify and downgrade their profiles.

The final version is completely decentralized. My every commit is on a public ledger. STM is a trusted entity arranging the connection between the parties. That's a loooooong way off. For now I need to get this to the point where the search is useful with the data I have, then I can move onto bringing private members. This raises the question of distribution and reaching the target audience. I have that figured out and tested, but cannot share publicly yet.

Your questions were very helpful. Ask me some more :)

What is your specialty? What industries are you familiar with apart from RE? What kind of RE are you in? New development, rental, something else?

"I have that figured out and tested, but cannot share publicly yet." was an arrogant statement. I tested that channel on a small sample. There is no guarantee it will work at scale.

Very true, we all fall into these types of cognitive distortions... only the market can judge if a product is good or not, and some people do get it more precisely than others

Do you have an email where I can contact you? Should I use the one that ends with "@onebro.me"?
