Passed 1.2K MRR finally.

Finally passed 1.2K MRR as a content creator.

Long time lurker, finally joining the club.
I've started and stopped a few ideas of the years. I always thought I would write a piece of software that would make me some money. Not the case.

• During the last few years I had been faithfully writing a blog, www.confessionsofadataguy.com
  I finally started considering the idea of embracing my role as a content creator, not just a dude writing blogs on the side.

• I built a following on LinkedIn, posted content regularly. I also started a Substack. https://dataengineeringcentral.substack.com/

I focused on writing a no bull style and honest take on technical content. Eventually it paid off.

I now have a thriving Substack Newsletter with lots of paying subscribers. Best of all I landed sponsorship for both my website and Substack.

Sky's the limit. Lessons I learned.

1. Do what comes natural.
2. Consistentsy.
3. Marketing works. Go where your users hand out. (For me Reddit and LinkedIn.)
4. People will pay for honest, fresh, real, and open content. Something that breaks from the norm.
