"Passion Economy" or "Creator Economy"?

I don't believe there's much of a difference because the value exchange is based on a creator providing value from their passion.

You do have cases where creators may not be passionate about the creations they make, but in my experience I believe most originate from passion in some shape or form.

My understanding is they're slightly different.

The creator economy is broader. It's about people building businesses on the internet more easily than ever, thanks to platforms that allow them to distribute and profit from their work. So YouTube, Patreon, Substack, OnlyFans, Etsy, Shopify, Twitch, etc.

The passion economy is similar, but with an emphasis on passion. To be considered part of the passion economy, a platform needs to allow its creators to demonstrate their individuality, differentiate themselves, and build a loyal customer base. It's contrasted with gig economy companies like Uber and Instacart and Doordash, as well as platforms like Amazon, where drivers and sellers are treated as interchangeable commodities.

In practice, there's no real difference between the creator economy and the passion economy. So I prefer the term "creator economy," since it came first.

I know it by "The passion economy". I've never heard "Creator economy "before, perhaps because I follow Li Jin

What are the accepted definitions of each of them? Also, how does it differ with 'makers' and 'no code'?

Does it even matter? Lol, I've been part of communities that argue for years about what certain words mean, they spend all their time debating over the definitions rather than getting stuff done. I'm so over it. 🙈
