Hey, so I had this idea a while back it's basically a patreon-like coaching app.
No online courses for casual, cheap learning. Most of the online courses are usually too expensive focused on one-sided learning experience.
An application which aims to help people find coaches (professional and amateurs) at netflix-level prices while focusing on coach-student engagement and group projects
The general value is that even people like college students get to become "coaches" and earn a side income and "students" get to have access to affordable and less stressful knowledge which they can then apply on solo or group projects with the coach's supervision. Due to the casual nature of the app users will have the ability to be involved in the lifestyle of the coaches they aspire and learn how did they impact or succeed in their respective fields.
I'd like to get opinions on either coach/student perspective and also see if my points get through. Thanks for reading!
I feel like coaching needs to be expensive. When you want coaches on your platform to coach other peoples at a Netflix price, I don't think you will get very much high end coaches.
If I realy would like to be coached by an awesome person, I don't mind paying 1 to 2k, even up to 5 for some good knowledge and value.
Thanks for the feedback!
So the plan is to have like 4 content tiers, tier 1 and 2 will be at a fixed affordable price, and tier 3 and 4 at a flexible price set by the coach.
That means high end coaches can distribute the content in different tiers offering much more but also do not neglect people like students who generally have little disposable income.
Well, that sounds more promising to me. But are you going to use like a selection process for the coaches on your platform? Or is it going to be customer-review based?
I like the fact that high-end coaches can choose to also maybe once in a while accept someone of a lower tier, that way they offer some chances to the people who can't really afford it. But it's double you know, bc if you really want it you CAN afford it. If it costs a lot of money people also tend to take it more seriously, that's how it goes.
Hey sorry for the late response, we will probably be going the customer-review based route.
With this pandemic this is similar to what I have in mind, to help retool the people who lost their job. I'm thinking of online one to one coaching. But I don't know how to build the buss side.
Like the part about making it more accessible & less intimidating with lower prices. Focusing on groups, projects, supervision makes sense in context of school work, but less so in professional contexts.
I'd say niche on a specific application of cheap coaching & emphasize that, since other low-cost, generic membership platforms won't offer the unique features of yours
