Patreon like service? But cheaper

Hey guys, if anyone of you uses patreon as an additional/side source of income, do you ever feel the Patreon cut is less, fair or a bit more?

Please do share.

I've never used it myself, but Buy Me a Coffee of Coffee has always been interesting to me.

I looked into it, and they have monthly recurring donations (in addition to one time donations), all for a flat rate of 5%.

Their biggest competitor is an option too, Ko-fi ($6/mo for Gold tier which has recurring donations)

heard about them, but didn't know about the recurring part. Thanks!

There's alot of Paid Community Platforms. Patreon works with very niche Influencers or Projects. Anything more generalized, really doesn't work. Patreon Founders Price is like 5% of subscriptions, Twitch is 50% cut of subscriptions. Facebook Groups can now be monetized. I've done a ton of research in this space, I still haven't found something that works on the Discovery and Price that I want it to.

what would your ideal price cut would be from a content creator pov?

I personally feel that the cut Patreon takes out is very high. But I don't have a valid alternative I can consider and though there are quite a few limitations I'm not disappointed with what Patreon has allowed me to do.

you have some valid point, patreon has developed that kind of image.
