Pay-as-you-go SEO Tool

Hello IH,

Recently I've been looking into SEO tools that I can use with my blog.

I've come across a couple of tools like Ahrefs, Moz Pro, SEMRush, etc.

But I noticed that the cheapest plans are $99 per month?!

I am sure these tools are worth their price for someone who does SEO full-time but for someone like me who would like to use it a couple of times a month it's just not worth the price.

What would you do if someone built an SEO tool that charges you based on how much you use it?

You can think of it like comparing Digital Ocean and Firebase.

    Recently came across https://www.indiehackers.com/product/siteguru @RickVanHaasteren

Not pay as you go but it may be more your price point.

Hmm, there are like hundreds of tool that are working like that (with credits or cheaper plans)

But not many tool have so much features like ahrefs, moz, semrush.

There are plateform to get keyword ranking, keyword analysis, ....

But the most expensive and the most interesting feature is backlinks

And not many plateforms are providing backlinks. Why ? because it's insanely expensive to run crawlers that will extract all the backlinks. That's why those tools are expensive.

Keywords Everywhere is awesome. $10 and integrates into your browser for 100,000 searches.

Have you heard of nozzle.io before? I came across it because one of the founders makes some popular React libraries (like react-table). They offer SERP data and have a plan that you use credits for that you can buy in $20 increments. It's worth a peek for inspiration, I think there's definitely a market for more in the space.

Personally I use Ahrefs, and it's definitely on the expensive side. I at least think the tool is very full featured but it's better suited to someone who runs multiple properties instead of a single site.

@AthosBlade echo that! I also do SEO but not every day. Having an on-demand tool is very much needed.

I'm currently using SEOquake, KWfinder and Keywords Anywhere. How are you planning to make the tool different than many alternatives out there?

p.s. I'm working for the investor of Digital Ocean, happy to exchange ideas :)

Currently just validating the idea and checking out if there are people interested in it.

Didn't know about SEOQuake and KWfinder. They seem promising.

      Thanks for the comment.
