Pay for traffic in order to validate? ❓
Hello, fellow Indie Hackers!
I'm curious whether you've used paid channels in order to drive traffic to your landing page very early on. I'm talking about the validation stage, where you've just put out a simple website telling what your idea is and building the email list. Or is it better to just spread the word as far as possible on various facebook groups / reddits?
I feel like the trouble with them is that "advertising" the idea you have and encouraging people to check out the website if they're interested isn't very welcome there, at least in groups that I've been targeting.
I wonder if the paid promotion such as adwords, facebook / twitter ads would help me get to bigger amount of people in order to validate.
It depends. If you're familiar with those tools and know how to run successful campaigns then it can be worthwhile. If you aren't, you may end up wasting a lot of time and money.
I think it depends on what you're selling. For example, if you have a product on a marketplace like amazon, you can use seo keywords to help sell things. What kind of product or service do you have in mind?
I've been building a platform that'll help finding side-project partners with complementary skillsets.
