PayPal sucks
So, I have some money in my PayPal account, and when I try to purchase something using my existing funds, its does not give me that option, paypal says enter a credit card to make the purchase. But if I have an existing balance in PayPal it begs the question. What is the point of PayPal. My PayPal balance is like like a useless currency.
Don't you have a PayPal debit card? It looks just like a credit card, you can use it for purchasing/swiping anywhere MasterCard is accepted, and money is just deducted from your PayPal balance. -- oh, and you earn 1% cashback, once a month PayPal credits money back into your PP account.
Usually you can use your PP balance but it depends on the merchant, sometimes the PayPal checkout is just like CC payment gateway between you and another business that's why you couldn't use your balance.
Feel free to send your useless currency my way, I'll figure out how to get some value out of it ;)
On a serious note, usually there's an option to log in and use your existing funds. Maybe the UX is a bit lacking in that regard, but I've never had any problems collecting or spending money in my PayPal account.
