I was playing with this concept for some time. It's a peer to peer marketplace for food. Like grubhub, but from a local chef, not a restaurant. I feel it has some legs especially now as a number of restaurant employees are unemployed.
The initial version is at www.eatyn.com
Would you buy from a marketplace like this if its only takeout? Would you consider selling through this platform?
This concept looks cool and I can tell that you're looking at trends.
However, you have to focus on solving a problem first?
I think you're ahead of your time.
You might be right. We get lot of people signing up for cooking and selling food through the platform. but only a fraction actually follow through now.
how would i know if they don't have
covid-19
? and how would it get delivered? by a 3rd party?Right now the focus is on takeout only. If the hosts want to deliver it, they can. Looking into postmates as an option.
We have basic insurance coverage and general safety. yet to solve Covid 19 specific concerns
ah. okay. lots to figure out!
Have you heard of https://myshef.com? Not sure how much traction they have but probably validates the idea
Great find. Looks like they don't have much traction yet. So good thing is that Ycombinator thinks this business model is valid. That's pretty good for the market validation
Are you looking for help on this project?
Trying to leverage my experience at the large players in this space.
