Best Buy Canada is using Perion's technology to power monetization across its programmatic in-store digital signage network. Perion announced the strategic partnership, describing Best Buy Canada as Canada's largest Consumer Electronics omnichannel retailer.
The partnership turns Best Buy Canada's in-store screens into a premium programmatic Digital-Out-of-Home channel. Perion said the deployment creates one of the largest SSP-enabled DOOH media networks in the Canadian market.
The move is centered on technology modernization. Best Buy Canada is deploying Perion's Ad Server, SSP, and Header Bidding technologies to replace legacy systems and support a programmatic-first retail media model.
Best Buy Canada's in-store screens are the core asset in the partnership. Through Perion's platform, those screens become programmatic media inventory rather than standard digital signage.
That change matters because retail media depends on both audience context and monetization infrastructure. Best Buy Canada provides the retail environment. Perion provides the advertising technology that supports programmatic decisioning and measurement.
The partnership also connects in-store media with DOOH. The screens are located in physical retail spaces, but the monetization system is digital and programmatic.
Perion said Best Buy Canada is deploying a comprehensive suite that includes Ad Server, SSP, and Header Bidding technologies. The company described the approach as unified and said it replaces legacy systems.
The full-stack deployment is part of Perion's broader positioning in retail media technology. Instead of supplying only one part of the process, Perion is supporting several layers of the in-store media network.
This gives Best Buy Canada a technology foundation for managing the network as a programmatic retail media channel. It also gives advertisers access to an environment designed for more measurable experiences.
Perion said the shift from traditional "loop-based" signage to its dynamic, impression-level decisioning engine allows Best Buy Canada to drive higher yield and improved monetization efficiency.
The announcement also says advertisers gain real-time performance metrics that were previously unavailable in offline environments. That is a central benefit of the programmatic-first model.
Thierry Hay-Sabourin, Senior Vice President - Ecommerce, Marketplace & Marketing, Best Buy Canada, said: "Perion provides the technology foundation to help modernize and scale our in-store media offering. A programmatic-first, loopless model enables more effective, measurable experiences for brands and agencies, while unlocking the valuable advertising moments that our in-store environment offers."
Perion connected the partnership to its Perion One strategy. The company said the agreement reinforces its role as a full-stack retail media technology provider and expands exposure to premium, brand-safe retail DOOH supply.
Tal Jacobson, CEO of Perion, said: "By serving as a foundational infrastructure for a market leader such as Best Buy Canada, we demonstrate that our Perion One strategy allows us to win complex, enterprise-level mandates. We are creating a repeatable playbook to modernize retail media networks globally, ensuring sustainable growth and deeper strategic relationships with high-value partners."
The announcement frames the partnership as a technology infrastructure decision. Best Buy Canada selected Perion to power the monetization system behind its in-store digital signage network, while Perion gains a major retail DOOH deployment in Canada.
