Personal Finance Goal Projection App

Hello,

My name is Garrett and I am work software engineer and extremely passionate about personal finance. I was an avid paid user of Intuit's Mint budgeting app before they decided to decommission the project and move toward credit karma with no budgeting features at all.

I ended up migrating to a product called Monarch. It pretty much has all of the same features that Mint does however something that both Monarch and Mint seem to lack is robust goal tracking and forecasting. Its great that these budgeting apps push you to better financial health however in the case of these goals, I would love to know WHEN I may hit my them, and what I could tweak in order to hit them sooner.

I really enjoy tracking and forecasting my YoY growth of net-worth and the values of my specific accounts growth based on contributions and interest. I have since made a psuedo MVP in excel that basically does this. However for the average person who doesn't know the financial formulas to get this done or even understands how to do it in Excel wouldn't be able to necessarily do this easily with out a certain amount of financial literacy.

Which brings me to the beginnings of my exploration of the demand of such a product and if someone would even pay for something like this. Overall I have a strong belief that the world of personal finance is still extremely unaccessible, especially for the youth and I feel that I have a calling and the skills to create something that can be an enhancement on top of the ecosystem of budgeting apps.

If all else fails, at the end of the day I will have a tool for myself since I can't stand the UX of excel.

Would love feedback on the idea, maybe you already know of an application that is doing this. If so, I would love to check it out.
