Personalizing your welcome email?
I spent some time today chatting with one of my new subscribers and received some feedback on personalizing my "Thank you for subscribing" emails.
What he suggested was including an image of myself and more hints of personal response, removing the thought that it could be an automated response.
What have you tried and have had success with?

I tried that approach and it works beautifully.
Also keep in mind that too much imagery (and also emojis if you're using them) can drastically increase your chance of landing in the spam folder.

I use an inbox rule to reply to the Substack "you have a new subscriber" emails. The message looks like a real, personal message from me. (It is... just sent in bulk.) The open and response rate of this email is unreal.
