A few weeks ago I posted here asking what went wrong after our Product Hunt launch bombed 8 upvotes, $0 revenue, crickets.
This community was brutally honest. You told us:
The login wall killed trust before we showed any value
The blank input box caused "quiet panic"
The output looked like just another AI report, not a decision engine
We fixed all of it. Login wall gone. CPA dropped 50% overnight. Rebuilt the entire output flow around "build this or don't" instead of a data dump.
So we took a breath and launched on PeerPush.
I'll be honest I don't know if we're still messaging wrong, if PeerPush just works differently, or if getting early traction is simply this hard for everyone and I need to stop expecting a shortcut.
If you're curious what we built after all that feedback or if you've been through this same wall and want to commiserate come take a look: https://peerpush.net/p/bunzeeai-make-ideas-real
And if you've cracked early traction on platforms like this, I genuinely want to know how. What actually moved the needle for you?
Sympathies, I'm about to push a launch of my own and reading this with one eye covered. One thing worth flagging: PeerPush daily traffic is a fraction of PH on a launch day, so 9 vs 8 upvotes is mostly a platform-size story rather than a messaging one. A more portable signal is the click-through rate from upvoters into signups or the first wow moment, since that survives across platforms. And changing three big things at once (login wall, input UX, output flow) makes the next round of attribution really hard. Did you get five or so target users in front of the new output flow before relaunching, or did you ship straight to PeerPush?
Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I spent a solid six months obsessing over Product Hunt before our launch, so I feel like I’ve been a bit out of touch with other platforms. Honestly, I wouldn't have even managed to list my product on Peerpush if it weren't for Claude’s help. I’d love to hear about your experience with Peerpush! Any insights you can share would be such valuable know-how for me.
