Photo API for developers

I wanted to share why I built change.photos - a developer-focused API for image transformations.
The inspiration came from a recurring pain point I kept encountering: every project that needed image processing required me to either:
Set up and maintain complex image processing servers
Navigate through bloated libraries with confusing APIs
Pay enterprise-level prices for simple transformations
It felt like managing images was taking more development time than building actual features. I thought: "Why isn't there a simple, affordable API that just lets me resize an image with a single call?"
So I built change.photos with a clear focus: make image transformations dead simple for developers. No complex setup, no server management, no wrestling with dependencies. Just clean, straightforward API calls.
The core principle is simplicity:
Need to resize? One API call
Want to compress? One API call
Convert formats? One API call
I'm bootstrapping this as a solo developer. My goal is to create the tool I wish existed when I started building web apps - something that just works, doesn't break the bank, and lets developers focus on building their products rather than managing image infrastructure.
