Photo location app.
The idea is pretty simple and before I go full boar on it, I want to hear your guys/gals input. I'm pretty novice to programming but with enough tutorials I've figured pretty much everything out so far.
So the app idea is simple:
Photographers are always looking for beautiful locations to shoot and this app is like a location scout manager.
Example:
Home | Search | Near Me | Add New Location | Settings
Categories of places with photo thumbnails
Trafic | Skylines | Star Fields etc...
And it's basically utilizing Google maps, except when pinning the location and locking it to your profile you can add a picture of the view from there. The lenses you recommend bringing to the location. (Sometimes not everyone wants to bring several lenses)
Near me is self explanatory, you can set a distance of how far away you are and what the area is like, safe not safe neighborhoods, best place to park in the area, what times of the day has best lighting... Basically details photographers look for and ask about.
The biggest feature will utilize augmented reality I guess you could say.. A sun path tracker, where it shows where the sun is and or will be. Along with clouds and weather fetching feature.
Everything to go in one app for photographers and even tourists who want to find the best photo op locations.
Other than this being a niche idea, what are your thoughts on how I could improve this?

That's pretty similar! We wanted to put in things like photopills has as well. Augmented reality, weather, sun, moon, cloud location etc... Have you had much success with your app? Looks beautiful
I already added the weather, sun, and "golden light", because people wanted it, but NOBODY used (so I removed it). That's one of the things that people think they'll use, but then they don't actually use it.
There is no that much success in my app, currently. But I'm getting better.
Go for it with your idea. My best advice is: Be careful with the content. It's really hard to get it. People only upload selfies, porn and spam. I approve less than 1% of the photo uploaded, and they aren't even really nice photos (most of them with bad quality).
And free stock photos don't give you EXIF or GPS location positions at all. Or they give it, but really really wrong.
I had similar idea some time ago! I though about wider audience, tourists and influencers as well. Check out flickr, they have similar feature. Biggest problem is fact that such directory needs a lot locations to be useful, so it's tricky at start.

Edit: I remember I did a bit of research while back and there were few websites with paid locations aiming cinematographers.
