Pivoting a 7-year-old project: Why destruction was necessary for our evolution

I’ve been running SEOSiri since 2017. For a long time, it was just a resource hub. But I realized that to survive in 2025, the project couldn't just "exist"—it had to evolve.

I recently wrote about the concept of "Destruction as Creation." It’s the idea that you have to let your old product/strategy "rot" (like a fruit) to release the seed for the next phase.

The Pivot:
We moved from static content to Competency-Based Learning (CBL).

Problem: People consume content but don't retain skills.
Solution: We built an Exams Hub to force "failure" (testing) before learning, and a Courses Hub to fill those specific gaps.

It was scary to dismantle parts of the site that had been there for years, but the "Rot" was necessary for the "Sprout."
